Register A Username

The first time you login to our new website, you will be prompted to register a username.

You can have a look at this
YouTube clip
to walk you through the process.

Why do you have to register a username?

The username allows library users a sense of anonymity with their interaction in the new website community content. If you add comments or create lists or add to My Shelves this will all be connected to your username.

But remember that once you've registered a username you never have to use it again! You can use your new username or continue to use your barcode and PIN.

Where do I find all the stuff I usually access - my check outs, holds etc?

All of this information is, once logged in, available under the My YPRL menu in the My Borrowing column in the top menu.

Cool things about the new site :

- Search. The search bar is at the top of every page now, so you can't escape it! But also, it searches better. You can treat this search bar like a Google search. Give it a go and see for yourself!
- My Shelves. You can have your very own virtual collection.
- Recently returned. You can choose for the website to remember items you have borrowed by ticking a box in Account settings. It's a great way to know if you've read something before. You can also then:
- Add Comments. Record your thoughts - good or bad - on a particular title. Remember when you read it. See what other people think of a title and get their loan recommendations that way.
- Save For Later. Don't have enough holds? Use the For Later option to create a never-ending list of titles to save for another day!
- Create Lists. Share opinions, collate together similar titles on your favourite topics or your top 10 books of the year etc.

We think you'll love the new website once you get used to it, but definitely ask us for help if you need it! Branch staff are happy to assist you, or you can contact us or ask a question from home.
