What is an Inter-Library Loan?
Materials not available from the Yarra Plenty Regional Library
catalogue can be requested via the Inter-Library Loans service.
This service enables you to borrow/copy resources from other library
collections. To suggest a purchase for new material click here.
- Members of the Yarra Plenty Regional Library Service may request
an Inter-Library Loan through LibraryLink
Victoria.
Access to this service is free 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Inter-library loans obtained from Victorian public libraries
are free.
Some lending libraries charge a fee of $13.20. These include Universities,
Special libraries, State libraries (except State Library of Victoria)
and the National Library of Australia.
State libraries loan items on the condition they do not leave
the library premises.
Copies of journal articles incur a fee of up to $18.70. Please
consent to charges and/or conditions if applicable to your request.
- The maximum amount of Inter-library loan requests per card is
four.
- Inter-library loan fees are applied as soon as the item is requested,
and must be paid by the member even if they decide they no longer
require the item. Fees appear as an Inter-Library Loan charge
on the borrower's card and are payable at time of collection.
- Response times to Inter-library loan requests vary from 1-6
weeks.
Members can check the progress of their Inter-library loan by
logging on to LibraryLink through the Yarra Plenty
website & clicking on MY REQUESTS or by checking their
library card for messages under REVIEW MY LIBRARY CARD.
- Yarra Plenty has no control over response times from responding
libraries or length of loan periods.
- No renewals are available for Inter-library loans.
- Members must adhere to conditions of loans from responding libraries
if they agree to conditions upon request.
- Book straps attached to Inter-library loans must be returned
with the item. A fee of $5.00 applies to lost/non-returned book
straps.
- Yarra Plenty Library does not lend to other library services
magazines or Lote Audio visual items. However, this does not preclude
our borrowers requesting materials of this nature from other library
services.
- Yarra Plenty Library is a delivery point for ACMI (Australian
Centre for the Moving Image).
Individuals are welcome to join the ACMI library and request videos
and films to be collected from any of our Branch libraries. Membership
details are available on the ACMI online catalogue which can be
accessed from their website: www.acmi.net.au
