A maximum of brightly coloured paper, patty pans, crepe paper, pipe cleaners and a minimum of instruction resulted in an amazing variety of clowns. Last Tuesday, a horde of 62 children and parents spread out in the children's area and meeting room. They all had tremendous fun sticking, pasting and creating paper clowns. This movie doesn't disappoint. It has remained faithful to the novel for the best part. I was expecting graphic scenes, that go hand in hand with a story about killing, but these were toned down. The movie will be enjoyed by all who have read the book, I cant wait for the next installment. Suzanne Collins is amazing!!!!!

The jeans arrived three weeks ago from Gosford Library NSW. Since then we have dyed silk cloth, cut it out into diamonds, decorated the silk with gemstones and glued it all on the jeans. Our jeans then "traveled" to the Library courtyard to do some weeding, had a play on the climbing frame and admired the view of the beautiful Diamond Valley. Now the jeans . . . more »

7 March. Last week we received the jeans, together with a pair of decorated jeans from last year. This afternoon we are busy dyeing silk hankies to use for decorating the jeans next week. We use white silk hankies, heat-based dye and make sure we wear gloves. The dye will set when it is ironed. Using rock salt makes an interesting effect on the dye . . . more »
